Read: Exodus 13:17-22
Reflect: The Israelites are prepared for
battle. They know better than to trust Pharaoh. But God knows the people are
weak and vulnerable, so He gives them some time to breathe and recover, to get
used to being free of Egypt .
He leads them clearly, day and night. Have you ever felt blessed by an
unexpected respite in times of trouble, a breathing space to gather your
strength and see God’s path clearly? Did that respite help you trust God’s path
for you?

Recite: Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a
stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who
know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those
who seek you.
